CRM Professional & Omnichannel Professional
When it comes to innovative schools, Sekolah Murid Merdeka (SMM) is undoubtedly one of the pioneers. SMM offers a flexible, technology-driven learning concept designed so every child can grow according to their interests, talents, and needs.
They believe every child is unique, and education should adapt not standardize. That’s why SMM focuses on creating learning experiences that are personal, relevant, and enjoyable, allowing students to learn freely, collaborate, and create based on their potential.
With a mission to advance education equity in Indonesia, SMM continues to innovate through competency-based learning methods and strong collaboration between teachers, students, and parents. The goal is simple: to shape a generation that’s not only smart, but also ready to face future challenges.
Initial Challenge: Scattered Data & Slowed Coordination
As a school with numerous activities and cross-division interactions, from new student admissions to class coordination and communication with parents the Sekolah Murid Merdeka team often felt overwhelmed.
Aldias Restu Saputro, known as Aldi, Educare National Coordinator at Sekolah Murid Merdeka, explained that before using Barantum, the team struggled to manage leads from the moment prospective students entered the pipeline to the after-sales stage.
“Our leads were scattered across multiple channels WhatsApp, Instagram, even spreadsheets. And we already have more than 50 branches across Indonesia. So communication between branches was often fragmented and inefficient,” Aldi said.
This situation made it difficult for the team to monitor the progress of each prospective student and slowed down follow-up processes. Sekolah Murid Merdeka began searching for a system that could unify all data and communication into a single platform.
“On top of that, we have quite a lot of branches — more than 50 across Indonesia — so we wanted to unify communication across all of them. Since we were using various numbers, we needed a system that could support that,” Aldi added.
80% of Team Activities Supported Since Using Barantum
After reviewing several options, Sekolah Murid Merdeka decided to use Barantum Omnichannel. Today, the system is used by 138 active users across multiple divisions, mainly the Educare and Admission teams.
“We use Barantum to monitor the lead journey, from the awareness stage to enrollment. All lead data can be viewed in the system, allowing us to track progress and measure effectiveness,” Aldi explained.
Meanwhile, Barantum Omnichannel helps the team integrate various communication channels such as WhatsApp, Instagram, and the website into a single main dashboard. This allows customer messages to be answered faster, more accurately, and in a more coordinated way across divisions.
“Barantum helps our team, especially at Sekolah Murid Merdeka. Around 80% of our team’s daily activities are greatly supported because everything from lead management, lead tracking, to even team performance reports can all be accessed through Barantum,” Aldi said.
Centralized Data & More Efficient Coordination
According to Aldi, the biggest improvement the team experienced is that data and communication are now centralized and transparent . Previously, information was scattered across various files and chats, but now everything can be monitored directly from one system.
“Coordination between teams has become much better and more efficient. Even for monitoring and quality assurance, everything is easier thanks to the Barantum system,” he said.
With more structured data, the team can make data-driven decisions and improve the experience of prospective students at every interaction stage.
Barantum Support: Fast & Responsive
In addition to its comprehensive system features, Aldi also highlighted the quality of Barantum’s support services.
“The support service is very satisfying their 1x24-hour response tagline is truly something we’ve experienced. Even on weekends, when we encounter certain issues or challenges, we can coordinate immediately to resolve them,” he said.
Closing the interview, Aldi shared a message for other schools or educational institutions that are still hesitant about undergoing digital transformation.
“Don’t wait until you’re overwhelmed. A digital system like Barantum, which we’re using now, makes the team’s work more efficient, faster, and of course, data-driven,” Aldi concluded.
